Starting with the concept of the early 1960's "Dice Game" and leading into other issues that included scratch-offs and a "batter-up" game, the Topps Company was continually seeking to create a product line that was not only collectible but also interactive in an effort to make the baseball enthusiast a part of the action. One such experimental issue was the 1967 Topps Punch-Out set. These game cards are so scarce that several are checklisted but have never been seen, and there is doubt as to whether they actually exist. Until recently, it was thought that this test set was released in the Maryland area in cellophane wrappers of two perforated strips containing three cards each, but a find of a wax wrapper touting the punch out game has produced more questions than answers about the series, primarily the topic of why no unopened packs had surfaced. Until now. Steve Hart at Baseball Card Exchange (BBCE) has authenticated this pack as authentic, informing us that it is the first and only pack he has seen thus far from the elusive test series. An important major discovery for collectors of unopened material!
