Created by renowned sports artist Stephen Holland, this 33" x 24" piece is an original painting of the late, great Roy Campanella. Painted on two planks of wood that are attached to a wooden frame with a paintbrush that is presumably the actual brush used to create the piece in the upper right corner, Campanella's name is scratched onto the surface by Holland, whose silver marker signature appears twice; a 10" signature on the front and a 15" signature on the back with a year "98" inscription, both "9-10" strength. A master in black on black and course white painting, the 1993 Artist of the Year as named by The American Sport Art Museum has been commissioned by the Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Dodgers, Baltimore Ravens, Colorado Avalanche and other organizations as well as private collectors around the world. Holland was chosen by the United States Olympic Committee to represent the 100th Anniversary of the Olympics in 1996. A masterpiece from one of the sports world's most heralded artists.
