Relatively few modern football rookie cards can be considered as difficult to find in GEM MINT condition as Reggie White's notoriously stubborn 1984 Topps USFL issue. Only three specimens have ever attained the elite mark of PSA 10 GEM MINT from nearly 700 submissions. Reminiscent of earlier O-Pee-Chee baseball issues, the reverse is primarily printed in a bright fuschia color, leaving the reverse corners and edges extremely susceptible to chipping. PSA, however, tends to be much harsher on the 1984 Topps USFL issue than on vintage baseball issues, allowing only the smallest tolerance for wear along the brightly colored edges. The reverse of the offered specimen, however, appears near perfect, with faultless edges on all sides save for some microscopic touches to the top. The front appears perfectly centered with unimprovable corners and edges around a powerfully registered image.
