Legendary Hall of Famer Mickey Charles Mantle had already walloped 347 home runs at the time of this card's issue, and while he was showing signs of slowing down at the age of 30, he managed to knock nearly 200 more out of the park before he hung up the spikes. This card hails from the notoriously condition-sensitive 1962 Topps issue and presents with extraordinary levels of contrast, clarity, and detail. The susceptible light blue backdrop shows virtually no indication of errant print spray and the centering is nearly perfect. A very light touch of white can be seen at the extreme tip of the upper right vertex which most likely accounts for the given technical assessment, but visual appeal seems well in advance of the opined grade.
