If the 1957 Topps set didn't include the legendary rookie card trio of Unitas, Starr, and Hornung, it would still resonate with collectors as a gridiron classic for its brilliant two-toned color backdrops. But it does, and they're pretty impressive in this completely graded collection that includes variations and both checklists. In addition to the "big three" rookie cards (all graded PSA 5), the breakdown of the set is as follows: PSA 8 (5 cards) - #55, 81 (PD), 83, 92 (OC), and 96 (OC). PSA 7 (30 cards) - #6 Nomellini, 10 Richter, 12, 24, 28 Groza (OC), 31 Blanda (MC), 35 Tunnell, 46 Hirsch, 47, 48, 57, 59, 60, 62, 63, 72, 73 (OC), 76, 77, 79, 84, 87, 88 Gifford, 89 (ST), 133 (OC), 135, 137, 141 (PD), 142 (PD), and 148 (OC). PSA 6 (69 cards) with #14 Sumerall, 49 Bednarik, 104 Morrall, and 109 Conerly. PSA 5 (57 cards) with #1 LaBaron, 5 Marchetti, 22 Van Brocklin 30 Tittle, 32 Layne, 85 Lane, 94 Berry, and 154 Morrison. Included are the two checklists (Bazooka back PSA 2 (MK) and Blony back SGC 10 POOR 1) as well as the difficult #58 Sherman no team/position PSA 6.
