Rookie cards of Hall of Famers appear to show no signs of slowing down, especially when the card comes from the enchanting high-number series of the 1952 Topps release. The offered example of Hoyt Wilhelm, long-lasting knuckleballer who pitched in the big leagues until he was nearly 50, shows bold, lifelike colors and uncommonly accurate centering on the front, amplified by an impressive coating of original factory gloss. The card does show a mild crease, visible primarily on the reverse, which accounts for the given technical assessment. Overall, however, a very aesthetically pleasing example for the grade.
