The baseball card hobby has enjoyed a miraculous resurgence over the past few years with vintage rookie cards of Hall of Famers leading the way. Near the top of the list of subjects is Roberto Clemente and his brilliant red and green colored 1955 Topps debut pasteboard. The featured card offers a portrait image of the tragic hero, forever the last name on the list of 3,000 hit club members, presented with striking clarity and detail while the full-body effigy to the right is equally precise. Borders are equidistant, clean, and free of stray print markings, corners easily fall within the standards for the opined grade. The reverse is just as compelling, typically toned and well-struck in red and green pigments. Graded MINT by now-defunct grading service GAI. A truly stunning example.
