Graded PSA 9 MINT. One of just three examples in its grade with no superior specimens on record at PSA. Offered is a thoroughly MINT example of Bob Hayes' 1966 Philadelphia RC issue. Once considered the world's fastest man, Hayes is of course remembered for his blazing speed as both an Olympic Gold Medal sprinter and a star receiver for the Dallas Cowboys. As a student at Florida A&M, he twice set the world record for the 100 yard dash as well as several other sprints. In his rookie season as a Cowboy, he became the first player in franchise history to surpass 1,000 years receiving, and to this day he holds ten regular season receiving records, four punt return records, and 22 franchise records. Amid controversy regarding his denial to the Hall of Fame in 2004, long-time SI writer, Paul Zimmerman, resigned from the Selection Committee in protest of the decision.
