Vintage Mickey Mantle cards are pricey, particularly if you're going back as far as the 1953 Topps series, Mantle's second appearance with the company. Presented here is a specimen that offers plenty of value, graded a modest SGC 45 VG+ 3.5 but displaying eye appeal that rivals higher assessed specimens. The centering is good for the grade, mildly positioned toward the northeast, with corners and edges indicative of the grade and a central image that is full and robust. In the battle between affordability and aesthetics, this example offers some of the best of both worlds.
