Of all of the "old timers" that were included in the 1940 Play Ball series, none had the combination of star power and infamy as did Joe Jackson. Taking a look at this stunning keepsake reveals far more than your average NM card as each of the four corners is at the top end for a NM 7 while the centering, ever so slightly shifted to the left, falls well within the standard for the grade. The toned reverse is well printed with a deep black inked bio that states in its last line of text that Jackson batted an amazing .408 in 1911 which was only good for a second place in the batting title to Ty Cobb! A tremendous example of an important baseball superstar.
