The all-time home run king of the dead-ball era, Hall of Famer Roger Connor held the crown from 1895 until a guy named George Herman Ruth passed him in 1921. Conner poses here, hands on knees and ready for action, on this wonderful 1888-89 cabinet card from Old Judge. Graded SGC 40 VG 3 and make no mistake, that's high-grade for the issue, the card shows typically rounded corners and a small ding on the bottom edge, but the ancient image of Connor is amazingly clear and the centering is virtually perfect. Now this is what the old school vintage collector longs for!
