Upon first glance at this 1954 Topps rookie card of Hank Aaron, you can't hep but be swept away by the depth of the orange and blue pigmentation, far bolder than any other example we've ever seen. But that doesn't mean that other aspects were sacrificed as, from the standpoint of perimeter strength, this 1954 Topps Hank Aaron rookie card could stand toe to toe with any other at the EX/MT level. Obviously one of the most important issues ever produced by Topps and a card that already ranked on the top ten list of just about every vintage collector before his recent passing, the Aaron rookie card in particular as well as most other Hall of Famers who made their pasteboard debuts in the 1950s have seen skyrocketing prices at just about every grade level over the past few years. The centering mildly favors the southeast corner, and as we see it, the only reason it wasn't evaluated at a half to full grade higher, while the reverse has slight toning but less than expected chipping along the edges. There are plenty of opportunities out there to land a Hank Aaron RC at this grade level, but you won't find one that just pops with eye-appeal like this one does. it's a real looker that would add greatly to any mid-grade collection.
