First class Hall of Fame inductee Christy Mathewson is depicted the right side of the offered T202 tobacco treasure, issued in 1912 with packs of Hassan Cork Tip cigarettes. While the Christian Gentleman and teammate Rube Marquard would combine for 50 victories during the 1911 season, the Giants would fall to Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics in the World Series, 4 games to 2. This specimen has survived nearly 110 years in EX/MT condition as determined by the highly-qualified professionals at SGC, with strong corners, bright colors and a crisp interior image of Hall of Fame manager John McGraw. An important addition to any pre-war assemblage.
