Artist Ryan Smith put his talents to use by taking overproduced and essentially worthless “junk era” cards and created mosaics of baseball's most important cards. Featured here is a tremendous 22" x 32" rendition of the sport's most iconic post-war issue, the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card. Assorted faces from baseball cards are used to make up the flesh tones on Mantle's face, neck and hands, with white cards bearing player statistics making up the border to cover the larger areas a few of the small pieces have dislodged but is barely noticeable and should stay intact once framed. A phenomenal piece of artwork, painstakingly planned and implemented wonderfully!
