With the possible exception of football's George Blanda, the lengthy career of Hall of Famer Gordie Howe is without equal. After 25-seasons with Detroit, where he led the NHL in goals five times, points six times, was voted the league's MVP six times, and won four Stanley Cup Championships, Howe decided (at age 45) that a change of scenery would do him good and played seven more seasons outside of Detroit. Pictured on this 1953 Parkhurst card, graded PSA 8, Howe is bearing down on a goalie to net one of his career 975 lamp-lighters. NM/MT attributes all around make this a necessity to any advanced '53 Parkie set builder. Only 18 reside at the PSA 8 level with just two graded higher.
