Gifted to Harry Neilly, a sportswriter for the Chicago American who endorsed Babe Ruth for American League MVP honors, by longtime Ruth agent Christy Walsh. Presented is a game-used ball from the 1932 World Series, signed by Ruth, Gehrig, McGraw, McCarthy, and Grimm. Originally mounted on a base that made it more visual for display, the ball has a hole above Gehrig's signature where it was screwed down to the base but the penning is still very bold and legible, parked next to the familiar signature of Ruth. The ball is shallacked and has browned with age but the autographs are strong and well-protected. The base has "Compliments of Christy Walsh" and "Harry Neilly" imprinted on the top. A wonderful piece that celebrates yet another World Series Championship for the pinstripers. Full LOA from JSA.
