Mickey Vernon enjoyed a long and productive career in the major leagues, playing for six different teams and racking up 2,495 hits and a career .286 average. He then became the first manager for the expansion version of the Washington Senators in 1961. He appears in that capacity on the offered 1962 Topps baseball card, graded MINT 9 by PSA. With flawless centering, untouched corners and pack-fresh colors and gloss, it's hard to see what keeps this one at the grade level, but as it stands, it is one of just 10 in the grade with none higher on the PSA pop report.
