There was a time, not too long ago, when a NM specimen of Hank Aaron's 1954 Topps card was within reach of most collectors, but the surge in prices for 1950s rookie cards of Hall of Famers a few years back took many would-be purchasers out of the running. On top of that, the '54 Topps Aaron RC was one of the leaders in that trend. If you regret not scoring one previously and have the ability to correct that error, the featured PSA 7 example is a fine example to go after. Though centered toward the left edge, a common characteristic of the issue, this particular specimen excels with above grade NM+ corners and edges and a surface that is unusually bright, the pumpkin-orange backdrop drowning out the usual stray print. The image of the young "Hammer" is truly intense and well-detailed while the slightly toned reverse boasts bold red and green color with far less chipping than most in its grading tier. The Aaron RC is an icon in the hobby and this is one of the most visually attractive ones we've seen for the grade.
