In a collection filled with important rookie cards, none stands taller than the debut pasteboard of Hall of Famer Stan "The Man" Musial. This example is graded PSA 8 and certainly exemplifies true quality, boasting mostly NM/MT+ features to offset the very slight centering variance toward the southwest corner. Bright borders surround a sharp image of the two-time National League Most Valuable Player (Musial would make it a hat trick following the 1948 season). The borders merit special attention as many a ‘48 Bowman collector will attest that these black and white cards have proven very susceptible to discoloration. The reverse is equally as impressive, displaying precise deep black print that is indicative of a card that resides near the top end of the PSA grading scale. A thoroughly sound example of an all-important rookie card.
