Offered is the single highest-graded example of Honus Wagner from this mysterious and exceedingly scarce issue, designated W-UNC and dated to 1912. While virtually no information is known about the manufacturer or distribution method of this series, some have noted a resemblance to the W555 Jay S. Meyer "Base Ball Snap Shots" publication of 1910, which has since been confirmed to be a candy card and not a strip card at all. It is entirely possible that this issue is also a candy card, perhaps created by Meyer himself or a competitor, and while more examples have surfaced within the hobby, the entire census report from PSA and SGC combined sits at just 52 for the entire set. The offered card depicts the great Honus Wagner and has been graded VG/EX 4 by PSA, making it the highest known example on either listing.
