The 1952 Bowman issue contains important second-year issues of Mantle, Mays, Fox, Irvin, and dozens of other significant sophomore players who saw their first cardboard appearances in Bowman's rookie-heavy 1951 issue. Although the 1952 set contains no major debut cards, most collectors consider it to be aesthetically superior to the previous year's issue because of the inclusion of a facsimile autograph in the '52 design instead of the unappealing black box containing the player's name characteristic of the '51 design. The featured compilation of 1952 Bowman Baseball cards is complete and ranks #10 on the Current Finest PSA Set Registry, boasting an impressive 8.09 GPA. Every card in the set is graded at least PSA 8 with 19 graded PSA 9, 15 of which have no GEM MINT examples on record and include #50, 77, 91, 104, 113, 118, 121, 125, 126, 151, 154, 159, 165, 166, 172, 175, 184, and 207. There are also four cards graded PSA 8.5: 12, 148, 217 Stengel, and 240. For a complete list of cards and grades for this set, please visit our website for a link to the PSA Set Registry.
