It was a bittersweet day for Yankees fans as the end of an era had come and die-hards had gathered on June 8, 1969, to pay tribute to the retirement of "The Commerce Comet", Mickey Mantle. The featured piece was constructed as an homage to the Yankees legend, consisting of several images of Mantle along with three autographed pieces; the cover to the commemorative program, the sleeve that housed the recording of the festivities (both signed in bold marker) and the record album itself (signed in silver marker). Matted within a pinstriped cardboard display, the piece measures approximately 24" x 28" and comes with an LOA from JSA that authenticates all three signatures.
