Written four months apart in 1950, this pair of checks are both written and signed by Hall of Famer al Simmons, whose birth name was Alois Szymanski. Signed "Al H. Simmons", the first check is simply made out to "Cash" while the second is written to Agnes Szymanski, Al's mother, who passed away four years later. Simmons would pass as a result of a heart attack two years after that. With Simmons' passing at the age of 54, signed checks like these are indeed a rare find!
