It's hard enough to find unopened Topps baseball wax boxes from the early to mid-1970s but to come across an unopened box from our friends north of the border? That's special. Topps' sister company O-Pee-Chee had been producing parallel sets for years, almost identical to the Topps product with subtle tweaks that made the Canadian version different from (often superior to) the American product. As you can imagine, the OPC product is far more scarce, produced in much lower quantity since baseball was considered a secondary sport in Canada, and Canada's population (22.8 million) was but a small fraction of that in the United States (214 million). However, we've come across a rare survivor that is sure to produce some true "one of one" pop gems if the new owner decides to roll the dice and see what awaits inside. The 1974 O-Pee-Chee series contains the rookie card of Hall of Famer Dave Winfield and the usual cast of stars that includes Hank Aaron, Nolan Ryan, Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, and Reggie Jackson. Authenticated and wrapped by Baseball Card Exchange, this is the first unopened wax box from this series that Mile High Card Company has ever offered.
