It took a few seasons for Sandy Koufax's performance to catch up to his potential, but once it did, he became the most dominant pitcher in the game and had arguably the best 5-year run in baseball history. Presented is a scintillating PSA 9 MINT example of Sandy's iconic second-year Topps issue, precisely centered with impeccable MINT to GEM MINT corners and edges. The top horizontal edge experiences a mild rough-cut and the reverse is everything you'd expect from a MINT grade, a bright white canvas with bold red and green pigmentation. The central image is also very well-registered with sharp, colorful dual images of the lefty legend. Pictured in the infancy of his short career, Koufax was barely past his teenage years, a product of the "bonus baby" rule which required the Dodgers to keep Koufax on their roster rather than ship him off to the minors.
