While Philadelphia Gum didn't last long in the football card market, it made a large impact on the hobby with some extremely important rookie cards. This 1964 Philadelphia set, their inaugural issue, contains rookie issues of Hall of Famers John Mackey, Herb Adderly, Willie Davis, and Merlin Olsen as well as highly coveted cards of Jim Brown, Fran Tarkenton, and Johnny Unitas. Five cards in the offered set are PSA graded: #21 PSA 9, 51 Meredith PSA 8, 72 Davis PSA 7, 109 Tarkenton PSA 6, and 127 Baker PSA 9. This set is in extremely consistent mid to high grade at 25% NM/MT or better, 50% NM, 15% EX/MT, 10% lower with #3 Mackey RC NM, 12 Unitas NM, 17 Ditka EX, 30 Brown NM, 71 Adderly RC NM+, 74 Hornung EX/MT, 79 Starr EX/MT, 80 Taylor EX, 91 Olsen RC NM+, 117 Gifford EX/MT, 124 Tittle EX/MT, and Checklist 2 EX/MT.
