Presented is one of the more attractive and perfectly preserved original Mickey Mantle Rawlings MM5 Baseball gloves and glove boxes. Offered is a mid-1950s retail item that might bring a tear to the eye of the collector who recalls Yankee greatness in center field. This phenomenal Mickey Mantle store model glove, housed in its original shelf-display box, remains in outstanding, barely used condition. The model "MM 8" right-handed fielder’s glove features Mantle's facsimile signature stamped in the palm; additional silver stampings in and around the pocket include a small line drawing of Mantle, himself, as well as the slogans, “Major League,” Deep Well Model,” “Floating Heel” and “Professional.” Incredibly, the glove’s leather remains soft and supple, all of the laces are intact, and there is a minimum of standard corrosion along the eyelets. The absolute key to the overall presentation is the exceptionally rare original glove tag which is presented in alluring green with a small crease through the brim of the cap and attached with the original string. A truly exceptional original display piece in utterly spectacular condition.
