Even with an issue as incredibly scarce as the 1968 Topps Plaks test series, Mickey Mantle rules the kingdom! And even the most avid Mickey Mantle collectors have had poor luck finding one for their collection, but that is about to end. The offered three-player "sprue" includes Mantle, fellow HOF'er Jim "Catfish" Hunter as well as Jim Lonborg. And as luck would have it, this example has managed to sidestep the usual breakage from fragility and is perfectly intact with no detachments other than the bust of Mantle from the base at the bottom but held in place at the top. Not only one of the rarest Topps pieces to sport the image of "The Commerce Comet" but also one of the finest surviving examples.
