One of the most infamous World Series moments that further enhanced the championship mystique of the Bronx Bombers was when catcher Mickey Owens dropped a third strike which allowed the Yankees a comeback victory. Owens chases after the ball while Tom Henrich dashes to first in this original 7" x 9" type I photo. The reverse has the newspaper stamp and teletype story and the photo is virtually free of the usual creasing associated with vintage shots. A well-known moment in baseball history forever captured on film!
