At the accomplished age of 19, Bob Feller of the Cleveland Indians struck out an amazing 18 batters in one game, on October 2, 1938 against the Detroit Tigers. Offered here is a well-preserved original Type I photograph of the jubilant Indians celebrating the feat in the clubhouse. This black and white photo, measuring 6 3/4" x 8 3/4", offers spectacular clarity and contrast in addition to the impressive content. The original paper caption remains affixed to the reverse, which also bears some handwriting and two date stamps indicating instances of future publication. Some light surface wear is present, including some crazing and wrinkling, but overall condition is excellent. A terrific keepsake depicting "the Heater from Van Meter!"
