Silver lifetime passes, distributed to former players at the conclusion of their playing days, have always been a highly sought memorabilia item by collectors. While there are an ample supply out there (there have been a lot of baseball players over the decades), rarely does one surface as perfectly preserved as this example from Heinie Groh, a 16-year veteran from 1912-27. The pass reads "The National - American Major Leagues of Professional Baseball Present This Lifetime Pass to Heinie Groh In Appreciation of Long And Meritorious Service" with facsimile signatures of League Presidents Harridge and Frick. With "Lambert Bros. Jewelers. N. Y." is engraved on the reverse most of these silver passes have age discoloration but this one is nearly flawless.
