At the New York World's Fair in 1939, the Academy of Sport sponsored clinics for children, instructed by many famous sports figures of the period who volunteered their time to work with youngsters on the game's fundamentals. Laurel cards were presented to the student to certify attendance at the class, and the lucky kid on this card was paired with Hall of Famer Jimmie Foxx, who signed the card in bold ink and is graded PSA/DNA 8.
