Locked out of NFL production rights, the Topps company produced several football collections devoted entirely to the American Football League (AFL). With just eight AFL teams in 1964, the set contains a large number of players per team, leading to many inaugural appearances of players that otherwise may never had a card. The featured collection is 35% NM or better, 25% EX/MT, 10% EX and 30% lower, mostly due to the cards being marked or stamped. Key cards are #1 Addison EX/MT, 30 Kemp VG/EX, 31 Lamonica EX/MT (OC), 68 Blanda NM+, 82 Checklist VG/EX (MK), 90 Bell NM, 92 Buchanan NM, 96 Dawson VG/EX, 121 Maynard VG, 148 Otto VG/EX, 155 Alworth EX and 176 Checklist VG (MK).
