Conservatively graded PSA EX 5. Offered is an exceptionally appealing example of Ty Cobb’s 1909-11 T206 Green Back with various qualities that present far more prominently than the opinioned grade. This premium tobacco relic exhibits little if any handling, and may very well be in the same condition as the day it left its pungent pack of Sweet Caporal Cigarettes. The corners are sharp enough for a NM card, the edges are mostly sound, the centering favors the right edge with a bias of no more than 20%, and the image quality is superb; the print registration is accurate, and there are virtually no disruptive blemishes. The only possible excuse for the harsh EX grade is some extremely, infinitesimally, mild staining on both the left and right borders, extending from each of Cobb’s ears. The reverse is clean except for a small area with the faintest touch of blue ink, no doubt the result of stacking. An extremely desirable upper mid-grade example of Tyrus’s toughest T206.
