Take a look at virtually any championship caliber squad and you'll probably be able to point to one player who they call the "heart and soul" of the team. For the 1959 American League champion Chicago White Sox, that player was Hall of Famer Nellie Fox. "Mighty Mite" was one of the most consistent and dependable "table setters" of his time, playing in over 98% of his team's games while averaging .296 over 624 at-bats from 1951-1962. And while Fox's 1951 Bowman rookie card is often overlooked with the likes of Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford also debuting in the series, it's still a reasonably difficult card to find in high-grade. This MINT example was recently graded by PSA, and having seen the card before it was submitted, we thought it stood a reasonable chance of joining the exclusive GEM MINT club. The centering is almost dead-on while the surfaces are flawless. The fresh colors of the central image and brightness of the white borders really do personify the definition of "pack-fresh" while the edges and endpoints are within MINT to GEM MINT levels. A truly elite-level specimen that is likely destined to join a collection at or near the top of the PSA Set Registry.
