With the evaluation process of PSA seemingly becoming more and more stringent as the hobby continues to grow, the result of a pre-modern card getting a GEM MINT assessment in this climate is cause for celebration. Then again, it would only seem natural that cards approaching the half-century mark without ever having been submitted would have some small blemish or other imperfection that would disqualify it from landing a grade at the top of the scale. But it does happen, as evidenced by this recently graded GEM MINT example of Hall of Famer Brooks Robinson's 1965 Topps card. The front surface of the card is simply breathtaking as the perfectly positioned central image of "The Human Vacuum Cleaner" is delivered with unbelievable clarity. Due to the perfect registration, the observer can pinpoint every whisker on his chin as well as the reflection of the light off his cheeks and forehead. The four perpendicular endpoints are everything a discerning collector would expect of a GEM MINT specimen, and even the royal blue edged reverse gives no hint of chipping along the edges. One of only 2 to grade PSA 10 out of nearly 1,000 submissions, this flawless gem is primed and ready to be received by elite collectors and top-ranked PSA Set Registry participants!
