One might think that nearly eight years after being drafted is a long time before having your first Topps football card. So it is with Roger Staubach, the Heisman trophy winner as a junior at the Naval Academy, drafted by Dallas in 1964, then fulfilling his military service and joining the ranks of the NFL, sharing the QB duties with Craig Morton. This 1972 Topps issue has a wonderful rose-colored frame surrounding #12, a brilliant white border and lightly touched endpoints. Rewarded with the very collectable grade of NM/MT 8 from PSA.
