Graded EX/MT 6 by PSA. A precision like assemblage of vibrant colors command the attention of all enthusiasts who hypnotically stare in the direction of this fantastic collectible. A deep steely blue cap rests atop the young sluggers head adorned with the famous intersecting NY, while the flesh tones of the phenoms face seem lifelike. Posed in a right handed batting stance with the slate gray Yankee road jersey set against the light blue Florida sky of a spring training afternoon, Mickey appears ravishing in his first appearance on cardboard. While the centering shows a definite bias towards the upper left corner the corners appear sharp enough to conjure illusions of an advanced assessment. The borders are a pure white which when viewed in combination with the splendid color lifts the card to another level. The reverse is a pleasing gray canvas with no interruption from wax staining. A strong example of Mantle's true rookie card offered in alluring strong EX/MT condition.
