With major superstars such as Jackie Robinson, Roy Campanella, Duke Snider and Gil Hodges in the lineup, it has always been Pee Wee Reese who was considered the heartbeat of those great Brooklyn Dodger squads. Reese was such a popular and respected player that it was he, not the manager, who usually brought the Dodgers lineup card out to home plate. This '52 Topps card from the scarce high-numbered series is centered toward the bottom right corner but still delivers impressive eye appeal and a slightly above-grade perimeter.
