Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. Robert Moses "Lefty" Grove was a Baltimore sandlot star who attracted the attention of Jack Dunn, owner of the independent Baltimore Orioles, and was signed to play for his minor league team (Dunn also is credited with discovering Babe Ruth). Grove toiled for the Orioles for four seasons, posting league leads in wins, strikeouts, and ERA, while Dunn refused to sell Grove to a major league team. Dunn finally sold Grove to the Philadelphia A's for a then record sum of $100,500.00. The featured card supports the NM/MT 8 assessment of PSA with four strong upper end corners as well as fresh overall color and a deep rich embodying registration. Presented in stunning NM/MT condition.
