Joe Sewell was the toughest batter to strike out in major league history, whiffing only once every 63 at bats. According to legend, Sewell used only one bat his entire career and constantly cared for the bat with tobacco juice and a Coke bottle. This PSA NM-MT 8 card is magnificent, with three sharp corners, while the lower right corner exhibits a touch of handling. The image is bright and clean with clean surfaces front and back. Only one PSA example grades higher, and that is a marginally better PSA 8.5.
