The 1952 Topps baseball set is arguably the most recognizable and sought-after production of cardboard keepsakes of all time. Conceptualized and designed by Sy Berger, now known as the “father of modern baseball cards,” the format used for the issue is, in many ways, still in use today. With the player’s name, facsimile autograph, team name and logo, and full color photograph on the front and stats, biography and physical stature detailed on the reverse, the groundbreaking set paved the way for future years of pasteboard production. The offered lot consists of 31 collectible treasures from the celebrated issue, all graded EX/MT 6 by the leading card-grading authority, PSA. The included cards are: 70, 93, 94, 95, 97, 101, 103, 104, 105, 106, 117, 123, 126, 135, 138, 143, 153, 172, 173, 184, 198, 203, 205, 209, 211, 218, 219, 221, 231, 244, 245.
