An amazingly popular issue from the 1950s due to the rookie card trifecta of Paul Hornung, Bart Starr, and Johnny Unitas, the 1957 Topps set is still highly admired for its brilliant color and classic look. Each card was given a bisected design, with a player portrait against a solid backdrop on one side, and an in-action player cut-out against a different color backdrop on the other. The 155 card set (154 numbered cards with unnumbered checklist) included many great stars and rookies, with premier appearances by Don Chandler, Yale Lary, Dick Lane, Raymond Berry, Tommy McDonald, and Sid Youngelman, added to the three big rookies listed above. Up for auction is a complete, high-end 155-card 1957 Topps football set, with every card graded by PSA. The big three (Starr, Unitas, and Hornung) are all PSA 8, as is the vast majority of the set. In all, 14 cards are graded PSA 9, many of which are pop 2, 3, or 4, with nine cards grading PSA 8.5, one card grading PSA 7 (Bratkowski), one card grading PSA 6 (checklist), and the remaining 130 cards out of the 155 card set grading PSA 8. This unbelievably exclusive offering breaks down as follows: PSA 9 MINT (14 cards): #8, 9, 17, 22 Van Brocklin, 42, 48, 58, 61, 69, 73, 82, 86, 107, and 148.
