PSA/DNA, the leading memorabilia and photograph authentication firm in the hobby, defines a Type III photograph thusly: “A 2nd generation photograph, developed from a duplicate negative or wire transmission, during the period (within approximately two years of when the picture was taken.) This lot consists of three such photographs, each accompanied by an LOA from the aforementioned authenticators. Included is an International Newsreel vintage photograph of HOFer Mel Ott measuring 7 ¾” x 9 ¾”, an anonymous wire photo of the unveiling of the Lou Gehrig Monument at Yankee Stadium measuring 6 ½” x 10 ½”, and an Associated Press wire photo featuring Andy Pafko, Gil Hodges and Roy Campanella measuring 6” x 7”. All photos are black and white and present in approximately EX/MT condition, with light to moderate surface wrinkles and/or slight paper loss on the reverse, but with no rips or tears.
