Of all the great sports memorabilia items floating around this great country of ours, nothing tops the majesty of a Babe Ruth autographed baseball, especially one as bold and energetic as this classic! Penned on a Reach Official American League Baseball, the inscription "To George E. Kramer, From "Babe" Ruth" is inked in dark black pen below the label and leading into the sweet spot, layered with a light shellac coating which further accentuates the boldness of the ink against the lightly toned, brownish-white surface. To the right of signature, “1929” is faintly visible and written in a different hand, however it is commonly acknowledged that Ruth stopped putting quotation marks around his moniker before 1928. Since the stamped signature of American League President Ernest Barnard (who served from 1927-1931) appears on the label, the evidence suggests that this ball was actually signed by Ruth in 1927, the year he set the major league record of 60 home runs in a season as a member of the Yankees’ legendary “Murderer’s Row”, though this cannot be conclusively substantiated. What is true, however, is that this is the strongest Babe Ruth signature we have ever seen on a baseball, perfectly preserved and ready to be added to a world class collection! LOA from PSA/DNA
