Thurman Munson was on his way to a Hall of Fame career when his love of family took him from this life too early. Because of the desire to see his family on a more regular basis during the baseball season, Munson took up flying lessons and captained his own twin-engine plane. While testing take offs and landing during an off day, Munson's plane crashed and he perished. After back-to-back World Series Championships in 1977 and 1978, Munson's demise spelled no titles for the New York Yankees for almost 20 years. Munson was that important for the Yankees. This item is an unused check from the personal account of Munson and his wife Diana. This is a unique in that it is a personal item from Munson, something not seen at all. The check has Thurman and Diana Munson in the upper left with a baseball player emblem. The check is from the personal account of the Munson's from the United Bank of Canton, OH, Munson's hometown. The check is virtual MINT condition with no folds or wear, and has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
