"Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya'?" Truer words were never spoken, by Clint Eastwood or any collector who holds a vintage baseball card pack in his hand. I remember when a card show in the early 1990's was very slow ans a couple of dealers decided to each open a 1952 Wax Pack. With shaky hands and drama thick as one of those 1950's slabs of gum, the packs were opened and...nothing! A bunch of bums and some brittle gum. But, there is also the dealer who opened a '52 1st series wax pack a few years later and pulled out the only #1 Andy Pafko in GEM MINT condition. This card sold for $250,000 a few years ago. This is a very difficult 1st Series 5 cent wax pack from 1953, containing five crisp cornered, untouched cards. In that first series of cards, numbered 1 through 85, resides #1 Jackie Robinson, #27 Roy Campanella, #37 Ed Mathews, #54 Bob Feller, #75 Pee Wee Reese and some guy named Mickey Mantle at number 82. What would a dead centered MINT 1953 Mickey Mantle be valued at? Would you have the stones to open this? The pack is graded by Global Authority at GAI 6 EX-MT,one of the leaders in wax pack grading. The colorful red and blue pack has some light rippling on the front with the large slab of gum base, sugar and corn syrup clearly outlined. Corners are tight with the usual minor white touches. An ancient relic with only a handful of authentic graded packs known to exist. "Do you feel lucky?"
