This is a truly eye-popping example of Warren Spahn's 1951 Bowman issue. This is just one of 2 examples to attain MINT 96 status at SGC, with none higher. Collectors of the 1951 Bowman issue understand how difficult it is to find this card in such incredible and impeccable condition. With strong, indisputable MINT marks in almost every facet, this example could be one of the finest graded. Rarely do 1951 Bowman's come so well centered. More importantly, high-grade collectors familiar with the issue will be happy to know that the registration is essentially perfect, with no traces of that unappealing "doubling" effect in the finer details, so common to the issue. A check of the PSA population report reveals that only six Spahn examples have been graded by that company at this same MINT level, for a total of 8 examples graded at MINT status at both grading companies. And in case you're curious how this card's 8-Pop stacks up against the set's famous key cards, on record at PSA there are also 8 MINT 9 Mays rookies, 9 MINT 9 Mickey Mantles, and 15 MINT 9 Teddy Williams. Those ratios indicate this Spahn is underrated in its scarcity at the top grades.
