Hobie Landrith is known for one thing in baseball history. He was the first pick for the New York Mets in 1961 expansion draft. As New York baseball fans scratched their head in bewilderment in taking a career backup catcher first overall, manager Casey Stengel said, "You gotta have a catcher or you're gonna have a lot of passed balls." I guess that is true. However, Landrith was traded away three months into that first season. When you win this card, there will be no further trading of Landrith. This Landrith rookie card exhibits four razor sharp corners, great color, gloss and focus. It appears pack fresh! Only one of two examples at this MINT level with only one higher! The only other PSA 9 and the single PSA 10 currently reside in existing PSA registered sets. This is the highest example available on the market.
