Charlie Ferguson is one of the most interesting stories or tragedies in ML baseball history. A brief four year career netted an amazing 99-64 record with a sterling 2.67 ERA and a no hitter, as well he played in the outfield when he wasn't pitching. Ferguson contracted Typhoid fever in 1888 and passed away before the season started. In remembrance, several teams wore black arm bands. The offered example provides a well focused image of Ferguson in his Philadelphia Quakers garb.
